What is Waste Management? Waste: Any substance that is generated as a result of production and use activities and that is harmful to human and environmental health and is harmful to the receiving environment directly or indirectly. Waste Management: It is a management style that includes the reduction of waste at its source, separation according to its characteristics, collection, temporary storage, intermediate storage, recovery, transportation, disposal and post-disposal control and similar processes. Integrated Waste Management: It is the integrated application of Waste Management to all wastes. Waste Management Pyramid: Waste Management Pyramid is evaluated from upper to lower levels. In other words, the first stage is to prevent the generation of waste, and if this cannot be achieved, the aim is to minimize the waste, in other words, to minimize the waste. Then, reuse of the waste is aimed, if this is not possible, first recycling and then energy recovery. The last action to be taken for the waste we have left after these methods or for which we cannot apply these methods is disposal (such as landfill, incineration).
