Increasing air pollution along with the Industrial Revolution has affected the cultural heritage, and today the effects of climate change have started to become alarming.As a matter of fact, the frontline problems destroyed by the fumes from fossil fuels have been replaced by the dangers posed by situations such as hurricanes, storms, rising sea levels. In this context, the greatest effect of atmospheric humidity change is heavy rains. It is foreseen that this situation will create significant risks in cultural heritage. Increasing disasters such as floods and storms lead to the destruction of archaeological sites, buildings and structures, cultural landscapes, ethnographic resources, museum collections.In the research conducted by the World Heritage Center on this subject, it has concluded that climate change affects 57% natural, 37% cultural and 6% both natural and cultural areas. As a matter of fact, it is a well-known fact that the flood disaster has/ will continue to have devastating biological, chemical and physical consequences on this heritage, especially in archaeological sites, ancient cities and historical environments. In this context, the flood disaster causes irreversible major damage, such as the complete destruction of the heritage in question.In addition, buildings and structures are rusting due to the increasing amount of moisture in the atmosphere.
