Solarpunk or greenpunk is a movement that proposes to take the cultural elements of mass society, which the elites have made use of, to bend them and use them in favour of society, and thus solve social problems; turning consumerism around in favour of a green world, and encouraging optimistic visions of the future about current environmental problems, such as global warming and pollution, as well as social inequality.

Solarpunk takes as its theme renewable energy and technology in general, to try to generate a positive vision of the future for humanity; on the other hand, it also addresses the use of less technological means to reduce carbon emissions, such as gardening and permaculture.

It also encompasses a spectrum of arts and genres such as literature, art, architecture, fashion, music, and games.
